Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SolidStrata collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit our website, contact us, or order a satellite ground stability report. It also describes the choices and rights you may have regarding your personal information. This policy is intended for users in the United States.

In short: we collect the contact and property details you give us so we can prepare your report and respond to you, plus basic technical data needed to run a secure website. We do not sell your personal information.

1 Who we are

This website and the SolidStrata services are operated by SolidStrata, with its principal place of business at Garies, South Africa. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, contact us at hello@solidstrata.com.

2 The personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact details — your name, email address, phone number, and (where relevant) your organization.
  • Property information — the address or location you ask us to analyze, and any details you provide about it. A property address can relate to an identifiable individual and is treated as personal information where that is the case.
  • Order and correspondence data — the content of your inquiries, your order history, and our communications with you.
  • Payment data — billing details needed to process payments. Card details are handled by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Technical and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, and information about how you use our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 8).

3 How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • prepare, deliver, and support the ground stability reports you order;
  • respond to your inquiries and provide customer service;
  • process payments and keep accounting and tax records;
  • operate, secure, and improve our website and services;
  • send service-related messages, and, where permitted, occasional updates about our services; and
  • comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4 Marketing communications and your choices

We may send you service-related messages (such as order confirmations and report delivery), which are necessary to the services you request. With your permission where required, we may also send occasional updates about our services. You can opt out of promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us at hello@solidstrata.com; we will still send necessary service-related messages.

5 Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose it only as needed with:

  • Service providers acting on our behalf, such as website and cloud hosting, form and email providers, payment processors, and analytics tools;
  • Satellite and geospatial data providers where necessary to produce your report, noting that the underlying satellite radar data (for example ESA Copernicus / Sentinel data) is not personal information about you;
  • Professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers, where reasonably required; and
  • Authorities or other parties where we are legally required to disclose information, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, including in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of assets.

6 Where we process information

We are based in the United States and process personal information in the United States. If you access our services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your location.

7 How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Order and report records are typically retained for the period needed to support the service and to meet legal, accounting, and tax obligations; inquiry data that does not lead to an order is kept for a shorter period. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.

8 Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, and understand how it is used. Essential cookies are always active; non-essential cookies (such as analytics) are used in accordance with applicable law. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and, where applicable, through any cookie controls we provide on the site. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal; we honor these where required by law.

9 Your privacy rights

Depending on your state of residence, U.S. state privacy laws (such as those in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and other states) may give you the right to:

  • know about and access the personal information we have collected about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions;
  • opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising (note: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under these laws); and
  • not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@solidstrata.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and you may use an authorized agent where the law permits. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response.

California "Shine the Light": California residents may request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.

10 Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11 Children's privacy

Our services are intended for adults and are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in violation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, and material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.

13 Contact us

If you have questions or concerns about how we handle your information, please contact us at hello@solidstrata.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may have the right to contact your state attorney general's office.
